Testimonials for Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp?
Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp? deals with the moral consciousness of intercollegiate athletics. As in all walks of life, there is good and there is bad. This book lets you decide. The question comes to mind, is it possible to get to the top with integrity? This book provokes you to examine athletics from within." - Jody Conradt, Head Women's Basketball Coach, University of Texas at Austin
"A book for all of those who love the game and sometimes wonder what the inside really looks like and feels like. Dan has a real grasp on basketball and although Jack McHale may be a fictional character, there is a little bit of every coach in him." - Billy Packer, CBS Sports
"...an indictment of the cheating, chicanery and other abuses in college basketball..." - Jack Cavanaugh, The New York Times
"Doyle has performed a service to the sport by exposing the mean streaks of college basketball and offering hope for the future. Some day this book will be required reading in our schools." - Jeff Davis, The Fresno Bee
"The plot is perfect and Doyle's description of game situations provide the type of insight that typical fans are never privy to. This novel ranks right up there with John Feinstein's 'Season on the Brink'." - Peter Vescey, The New York Post
"Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp? is a prototype of the daily sports page of your local paper. The novel strikes at the heart of existing problems for a university, the NCAA, and law enforcement groups. This book will enable you to relate your personal feelings with reality. A must for sports nuts." - Bill Raftery, CBS Sports
"Dramatic and suspenseful... I found this portrayal of the human spirit through a basketball team - a microcosm of America - totally absorbing. This is a must for every family-oriented sports fan." - Larry O'Brien, Former Commissioner, National Basketball Association
"Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp? is the most thought provoking book on sports since James Michener's Sport in America. Dan Doyle may very well do for the development of honesty and values in collegiate sport, what Ben Johnson did for insuring that future Olympics will be drug free." - Dr. Robert Rotella, Sports Psychologist, University of Virginia
