Hope

In Matt's apartment
Escorted by detectives
And despair

I come upon
A book
Of Bible events

There is
One story
That absorbs me

A father – Jairus
Fears his sick child
Will not survive

He asks
Jesus
To intercede

Jesus comforts Jairus
With a message
Of faith

"Don't be
Afraid,
Just believe."

The child lives

I clung
To those words
They became my lifeboat.
