The Documentary Plan
Sport in Africa: The African Scholar-Athlete Games Documentary is one of three documentaries the Institute is producing, all of which are new Institute assets. The second documentary, entitled The Gran' Ole Jury, takes an in-depth look at the Grand Jury system in the United States. The third documentary is entitled One Song Four Versions ... The Creative Process … The Adjacent Possible. (View article) that Dan has posted on Medium which addresses the “one song” documentary. This documentary will feature highlights of a day-long recording session of one song -- recorded four different ways! Several renowned innovators will offer commentary on the creative process in the documentary.
Scholar-Athletes Writing, Recording and Producing Songs
Dan's Medium post addresses his and the Institute’s entry into the music world, through the production of his Stay Relevant CD: Listen to snippets of the eleven original songs.
A key objective of the Stay Relevant project was for Dan to learn the process of writing, composing and recording a CD, thus allowing him to assist the Scholar-Athlete Games participants – past and future -- in the creation and production of meaningful songs. The Stay Relevant project has resulted in the Institute developing relationships with a number of experts in the music world.
The African Scholar-Athlete Games Theme Song
The Institute is now working with a group of distinguished musicians in crafting the African Scholar-Athlete Games theme song, with the objective of capturing the essence of the mission of the African Scholar-Athlete Games project.
Stay tuned, as they say!
